“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” – Isaiah 54:10

Trust in the midst of turmoil; love in the midst of hate; compassion in the midst of judgment; peace in the midst of confusion. Try to wrap your mind around it. You can’t. You won’t. Not completely. The Father God – the Ancient of Days – His ways to our ways may be compare to a drop to an ocean. There is no comparison – the mass, the depth, and the movement between the two is vastly distinct; one clearly more powerful than the other. That’s our ways and God’s ways. He is God. And there is none like Him.

1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

Love loved us…

…and we love because Love loved us.

I cannot get over this. Love and God cannot be separated because God is love and love is God. And when we love others…it’s like we give them a piece of God. If your relationship with God suffers, your ability to love with the pure love of God, suffers as well. I have found that the days it is hardest to love are often the days with little or no quality God time. You must first sit in the pool of love and soak it up, before  you can squeeze it into the lives of others. Soak up Love today. And wring it out into the hearts of many.

29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:29-31

Sometimes we make things too difficult.

Let’s make it simple.

Everything else will fall into place.

LOVE LOVED greatly

“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13 NKJV

Jesus is LOVE. The very essence of the stuff; walking, living, breathing:  LOVE. LOVE is Jesus and Jesus LOVED us so much, He laid down His life for us. He died for us. You. Me. Us. There was no greater LOVE than this because LOVE LOVED greatly.

“According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” – Ephesians 1:4 NKJV

God spoke and this world came to be. That in itself is amazing. But get this. God chose you before He even laid the foundations of the world. He stands, looking ahead to the concept of creation yet His mind is on something else. It’s on you. Look inside His heart and find yourself there.

God. Thought. Of. You.

This is truth.

Let it set you free.

You are not beautiful because you apply makeup or wear nice clothes or have your hair professionally done. You are not beautiful because you can paint with ease or play with strength or sing with splendor. You are not beautiful because your eyes reflect the stars or your skin is naturally smooth or your physique firm.

You are beautiful because of this.

God is beauty. You spend time in His presence, you love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, you invite Him into your life….you are suddenly beautiful because you are a direct mirror that reflects His beauty. That’s when you’re beautiful.

It’s not about us.

It’s about Jesus Christ.

It always was; it never changed.

God IS beauty. We reflect that.

That’s beautiful.

I lay under the fireworks tonight. They crackle and burst and explode above me; the brilliant color reflects in my brown eyes.

And I wonder.

My Jesus…what if our love were like this?

Like this.

Like a speeding missile, shooting high and far into the world around; always pointing upward to the One who ignites us. This love explodes! It bursts into an array of color and wonder and joy. Its fingers reach out; it touches others. They too, are ignited. They too, explode, and do the same. More color. More wonder. More joy.

And more love.

It’s an array of color. It’s fireworks.

It’s beautiful.

Go make fireworks, my friends. Ignite hearts. Fan the flames of souls. And together we will create a beautiful array of color.
