Wow. So, WordPress sends me a 2012 report. They show me my most popular posts, my followers, my stats, my visits, and other intriguing information. And they show me this as well.

I. Have. Changed.

So much. I can’t even begin to say the work that God has done to this heart. To this Jesus Girl. A smile sits on my face and a song in my heart. ‘Cuz this Jesus Girl loves Jesus even more today then she did a year ago. Praise, Jesus. For change.

A blessed, 2013 to every one of my writing friends! Those I’ve met, and those I haven’t. You are loved.

Ephesians 6:10-17

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Notice the armor of God is for the front of us? We are to stand; to not back down from darkness and evil but to face forward, stand strong, and advance. Don’t even turn your back. The armor is in front of you. You got the full armor of God? Stand your ground and go forward and fight.

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

– Psalm 34:1

We complain over the stupidest things. So your little brother tracks mud on your clean floor, so a customer argues over the price of a sandwich, so a friend forgets a special date, so a car cuts in front of you, so, so, so what? Anyone can complain; we all know how to do it.

But be different.

Be God’s kid and let praise rip from your mouth.

This blog is under revolutionary changes, spinning off of my life as I press into the heart of Jesus Christ. The poetic – sometimes girly –, touching lines of verse and thoughts are being set aside to give stage for this: zeal, grit, and truth. This is not about a writer who is a Christian but a Christian who writes. These pages are and will be the bleeding of my heart as I exert myself into an extraordinary discovery of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Everyday. In the grind. Where it hurts.

Hey.

Come, my friend.

Let’s run together.

Hardcore for Jesus.

I could work for money

I could perform for fame

I could perfect myself

But what do I gain?

A life without Christ

Is a life about me

A life lost in myself

Is a life never free

I could do the same things

But in a different way

I could do them with joy in my face

And the love of Jesus each and every day

I could work for money

Money to give

I could perform for fame

Fame to show others how Jesus lives

I could perfect myself

Perfect to be strong

The music is different now

A new ending to my song

I lay under the fireworks tonight. They crackle and burst and explode above me; the brilliant color reflects in my brown eyes.

And I wonder.

My Jesus…what if our love were like this?

Like this.

Like a speeding missile, shooting high and far into the world around; always pointing upward to the One who ignites us. This love explodes! It bursts into an array of color and wonder and joy. Its fingers reach out; it touches others. They too, are ignited. They too, explode, and do the same. More color. More wonder. More joy.

And more love.

It’s an array of color. It’s fireworks.

It’s beautiful.

Go make fireworks, my friends. Ignite hearts. Fan the flames of souls. And together we will create a beautiful array of color.

“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” ~ Walter Winchell

You have everything.

You have lots of friends.

You suddenly have nothing.

And you suddenly have no friends at all.

Your door creaks. Someone is standing there. Jesus steps forward. He stands at the door. He is your friend. He is walking in when the rest of the world walks out.

Jesus always cares.

And He’s always there.

Always.
