11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

I don’t know what to say. Sometimes all you can do is hold onto the promises. And believe that they are true. Because they are.

John 1:6 (insert your name)

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.”

John 1:6

Insert your name in there.

“There was a man (or, woman) sent from God, whose name was (your name).

That’s crazy to me. God. God. Do we understand who this is? God. To think that He would choose me – you – and send us to carry His truth to others? To be used of God, to be sent by God…what an honor.

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace.

In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

In the heat of the battle, remember this: we do not fight for victory, but rather, from victory.

Do take heart, my friend.

Psalm 103:1-2 (praise always)

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy
name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he
does for me.”

Psalm 103:1-2

Exactly how many verses in the Bible command praise?

I don’t know.

But it’s a lot.

And I conclude this: praise first, praise always, praise forever. It can’t end, it must continue, it will be. ‘Cuz this is God we’re talking about. And He deserves our praise and nothing less.

29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:29-31

Sometimes we make things too difficult.

Let’s make it simple.

LOVE the LORD your GOD with ALL your HEART. LOVE your NEIGHBOR as YOURSELF.

Done.

Everything else will fall into place.

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”

 ~ Galatians 1:10

I’ve been hit with this verse. Hard. It pops up everywhere.

And I’ve come to this realization.

So perhaps I’ve come to the place where I am not seeking to please men; great. That’s a start. But unless I replace it with seeking to please God, I may have given up on pleasing man but I am now only focused on pleasing myself. That want of man’s approval must be replaced by a want for God’s approval or else it rests on a want for my approval. And that’s wrong. It’s selfish.

Maybe you gave up living for man’s applause. This is good. But now live for God’s.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

~ Psalm 46:10

Be still?

God, I don’t know how to be still.

But please. Please teach me. ‘Cuz I want to learn.
